Why Would I Start A Team?

• First and foremost: because it makes learning fun and competitive
• Travel opportunity
• You might win medals and other awards

• Here is the link to the official Academic Decathlon Website's guide on how to start a team, however, it takes a very surface level, non thorough, approach to an explanation. Essentially, it states to start small and find a few friends to be on your team, then find a club sponsor (school faculty) to be your coach and they will do the rest. What they don't mention in this section is the team make-up is traditionally 9 students: 3 Honors, 3 Scholastic, and 3 Varsity (based on GPA)
